The model 1911 is considered the World’s Greatest Pistol by many-shooters, collectors, and historians!  If you have a passion for the 1911, our course will cover everything from the history, both of evolution and the materials used in the pistol, to its many uses.  Our easy to follow class offers as a great guide to the 1911 and will be great for seasoned and beginner owners alike!

The Early 1911

Module one will look at the early 1911 handguns.  From the past to the present, there has been tremendous growth in the engineering of the pistol. Module one will look at the differences in the models and focus on each of the improvements made over time.  Also included in module one is the use of the 1911 pistol in some of history’s most prominent wars.

1911 Pistol Types

Moving in to module two, we will look at current 1911 pistol types and manufacturers.  Included in module two is a look at alternate action types-and the advantages and disadvantages of each type.  Looking at more specifics, we will examine the features of the consensus gun.  Because of the weight of the 1911, engineers continuously looked for improvements for the 1911, which included the use of aluminum.  This module will look at how aluminum has been integrated into some 1911 models.

Manufacturers, Accuracy and Sights

The 1911 Pistol has been widely copied and it is possibly the most popular handgun in the United States.  In module three we will examine the different manufactures and grades of this highly used firearm.  In addition, we will look at its sighting systems and how sights can be custom created for different uses.  Module three will culminate with a study of the calibers of this handgun and what purpose each serves.

Ammunition, Accessories, and Firing

In module four students will study the different types of ammunition used for the 1911 pistol.  Additionally, we will examine the concealed carry and how that translates to using the 1911.  Also included in module four is a look at accessories, including holsters, cleaning kits, tools, and much more!  Finally, we will take a look at function and accuracy checks as well as firing tests.
